Shopify Website Design for Creative Arts Center
Creative Arts Center of Dallas came to us initially looking for help with their complicated Squarespace and Shopify systems. Since their website was spread across two different platforms and they didn’t have access to everything they needed it was difficult for the internal team to make updates and changes. We helped with formulating a plan to consolate the websites to Shopify and implement a new design developed by a local student group.
As part of this work we reviewed the designs with the client to help them understand what steps would be needed to implement the design in a budget friendly way. Then we worked with setting up a new theme in Shopify for them, migrating pages over from Squarespace and then getting updated class information setup with the proper metafields so that attendees can filter more easily on the frontent.
Once everything was done we launched the new design with the client and helped them with ongoing support.
Custom Filter Design For Shopify
One important element of the design for CAC was the new Filter for programs. The client wanted users to be able to look for classes that matched the Type, Medium, Time and Day they were interested in. In order to do this we set up Shopify’s metafields with these options on a class by class basis and then configured each metafield to work with the Shopify filters. We also added in custom icons and colors for mediums so the type of class is readily apparent to a user as they navigate the website.
Responsive Design
We made a custom theme with a responsive design to ensure the website looks great across all devices and can be edited independently on mobile where needed.
Easily Editable Pages
Compared to the old theme the website was using the client now has full control over all of their page content. They can update pages without needing our team’s support. Additionally each product page is unique to each class, from content to images and colors for the medium of the class! This makes it very easy for customers to identify the features in a class that they are looking for.
Integration
Like many companies the client needed to integrate into their various other systems for order processing and then also class registrations and bookings. We supported the client with setup so they can show teachers who their attendees are, track registrations and notify attendees of new classes they might be interested in based on previous purchases.
